a long string of broken promises
a lack luster frame of mind
a sallow empathetic heart
and the void of empty longing
everlasting love is gained and lost
too many hardships befall it
broken pieces of the puzzle
the shattered bathroom mirror
some needed space and solitude
to expel these crazy thoughts
submerse my mind in exultation
bring forth to me the helmsman
to guide me safely home
I wrote this poem a long time ago before I met Macguffin. I rarely wrote anything so I was very surprised to find it after all these years.

Are you sure it wasn't written several LONG years after we met?
So did the helmsman get you home?
"to expel these crazy thoughts
submerse my mind in exultation
bring forth to me the helmsman
to guide me safely home"
I love these lines.:)

Wow. Are you sure there wasn't any recent editing done on this?
I like the idea of a helmsman to guide us home when we're too f--ed up to do anything for ourselves.
I hate waiting for that guy. But sometimes the fog in the bermuda triangle is too much to go alone into.
And who was the helmsman?
By the way, that's quite a standoff in that photo? I wonder who eventuall won!
its amazing just how things at the time in your life reflect your art. ya know? sometimes is dark and almost scary. sometimes is sad and beautiful and sometimes its so full of joy it makes our hearts want to burst...
sometimes... when i'm so deep into the pit of darkness.. i write. and the most horrific scenes come from those moments in life.
luv ya sistah!
could I ever do with a helmsman right now!
not appropriate to the post but you have been tagged.
